Who We Are
The Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA) was founded in 1922. Its goal is to represent, and advocate on behalf of, the 19 independent fire/rescue departments in Montgomery County and to improve the delivery of fire/rescue service to all County residents. The men and women represented by the MCVFRA are your neighbors and your emergency service providers. We live and work in your community, and we believe strongly in the value of community-based organizations and volunteer action as a way of improving the life of County residents. Through its research, advocacy work, volunteer recruitment efforts, and community activities, the MCVFRA supports our combined volunteer/career fire and rescue system and seeks to make Montgomery County an even safer place in which to live, work, and go to school.
